HYBRID

CIRCULATION SYSTEM FOR LIBRARY STAFF

The staff stations with Electromagnetic (EM) technology from Dialoc ID are characterized, among other things, by the high-quality materials that have been used. These not only give the devices a beautiful appearance but also increase the wear resistance and therefore extend the product life.

EM has been in use in the library for several decades and is still the ultimate theft protection technology. Aluminum shielded bags are often used with the intention of shielding the security labels so that they can no longer cause an alarm; here, unlike RFID, EM is insensitive to this.

RFID is a technology that is mainly used for the automated administrative processing of the check-out, renewal and check-in, as well as for the security of the item. In the latter with a limitation, because you can shield RFID.

The unique thing about the Hybrid staff station of Dialoc ID is that it combines the best of both worlds, EM for security and RFID for administrative processing. Ultimately you could also opt for an additional barcode scanner for identifying items, so that materials that do not have an RFID label can be scanned via a barcode; the hybrid unit can do everything.

The Sapphire staff stations of Dialoc ID are equiped with the so-called Led Information System (LIS). This is an extremely intuitive system based on a coloring work pad that informs the user about the status of the check-in and check-out traffic.

Dialoc ID delivers a very user-friendly software to the staff stations consisting of two applications:

  • a plug-in to automate the check-in, renewal and check-out processes in the library system
  • a conversion application that can be used to program RFID labels, supporting the most commonly used data models
